Checks and Balances:
Legislative Power – Impeachment: remove from office, Congress approves presidential nominations and controls the budget. It can pass laws over the president's veto and can impeach the president and remove him or her from office.
Legislative Power – Override: ⅔ super majority in both House and Senate Confirm Appointments. The Senate confirms the president’s nominations. Congress can impeach judges and remove them from office.
Executive Power – Nomination/Appointment: The present nominates judges. Appoint justices and judges.
Executive Power – Veto: Veto laws, the president can veto congressional legislation.
Judicial Power – Judicial Review: The court can declare laws unconstitutional. The Court can declare presidential acts unconstitutional.

House of Representatives: The lower house with 435 representatives: legislative house which uses the Virginia Plan (PROPORTIONAL representation)

Must be at least 25 yo. must have been a citizen for at least 7 years, and must live in the state they represent.
Senate: The upper house with 2 representatives per state. 100 representatives all together. Legislative house which uses the New Jersey Plan (EQUAL representation)
Have to be 30 years old, must have been a US citizen for at least 9 yrs. and must live in the state they represent.
