The Paradise Lost tells, under a Christian key, the fall of man, therefore the temptation of Adam and Eve, and their expulsion from Eden. The author, as the ultimate goal, has the intent to reveal to man eternal Providence, and explain the latter’s conflict with free will. The protagonist is The fallen Angel (Satan) who clashes with God, creator of all things, to then lose and be driven out of Paradise and end up inside the Earth. Eve, because of her naivety, falls into the temptation to eat the apple poisoned by Satan, but Adam consciously makes the same mistake, so he represents a virtuous man, but, consequently, his sin is more serious than that of Eve.
