Parable of the Narrow Door - Coggle Diagram
Parable of the Narrow Door
Repentance
In this parable, it explains that God is the one and only door to salvation. It is a narrow door and anyone can enter it if they try hard enough.
According to John Calvin, repentance can be done by:
Denial of ourselves
Death of ourselves
Meditation on heavenly life
Faith
The way to enter the kingdom of God is by no accident, but by striving for it greatly, making it your goal in life and putting in the effort to go through with it
We have already been saved by God, and that is proved by our ability to go through the narrow door
Judgement
It is not our birthright to enter the narrow door, we need to put in effort if we want to enter
Jesus does not enjoy the thought of sinners being eternally damned, He's also doing his best to get us to repent
Why is the door narrow?
The door has to be narrow, making it hard to enter so there will only be a few people who finds it, a harder task will lead to life, while a wide door, which is easy to find and pass through will only lead to destruction
How to enter
Be a repentant person
Listen and obey the word of God
Pray
It is so easy for us to contact God now, compared to the old testament, we need to take advantage of that and get through the narrow door
