Checks and Balances
Legislative Power- Impeachment: to bring charges against an elected official in an attempt to formally remove from office.

Executive Power – Nomination/Appointment: executive power;places justices and other government official in power with senate approval.

Judicial Power – Judicial Review: power of the Supreme Court by the supreme court by itself; checks to see if bills and executive order are constitutional.
Elections and Politics
Electoral College: process by which the US elects a president. Senators + Representatives
Census: counts how many people live somewhere
Conserative: maintain, want status quo, VERY conservative= reactionary, establishing old rules

Moderate: Independent, vote for either party.

Judicial (Article 3)

Chief Justice: leader of the Supreme Court. Clerical position (no extra power). Serve for life. They can only be impeached. President picks them.
