Muscular System
-
*Muscular Dystrophy- muscle weakness, factors can be genetic, myotonia symptoms can be mental retardation and muscle weakness you can get surgery to improve
Fibromyaligia- Pain and tenderness of the muscles some cause are physical trauma or sleep disturbance some symptoms can be fatigue headaches or muscle pain which can be treated by physical therapy
Myasthenia Gravis- Neuromuscular disorder that blocks neurotransmitters that are cause of age but also most common in women some symptoms are muscle weakness or shortness of breath there is no known cure
Cerebral Palsy- They are spastic paralysis causing muscle weakness that are cause of weakness or of premature of birth symptoms can be seizures
Myositis- inflammation of the muscle that are cause of infection or medication induced the symptoms of muscle weakness or swelling
-
Smooth muscle- lack striations elongated with tapered ends contain thick and thin filaments also involves reaction between actin and myosin
Cardiac Muscle- only found in the heart it consists of branching cells that interconnect it is involuntary and membrane of intercalated discs
Skeletal Muscle- The less movable end of the skeletal muscle. and its muscle is named by its size, shape, location action and the number of attachments and filaments
Sarcomeres-Myofibrils are made up of many units called arcomeres , it extends from one z line to the next
-
-
Neuromuscular Junction- Skeletal muscle fiber contract only stimulated by a motor neuron
neuromuscular junction- a synapse between
a motor neuron and a muscle fiber that regulates
The cytoplam of the distal end of the motor neuron and contain numerous mitochondria and synaptic vesicles with strong neurotransmitters
-
Facial:
Frontal belly (frontails) Orbicularis oculi (eye ball)
Zygomaticus (upper cheek)
Orbicularis ( around mouth)

Arm: Triceps brachii
Biceps brachii , Brachioradialis

Major functions- Mobilty stabilty ,posture , circulation ,respiration, digestion,
action potential- It is the sequence of actions that result from contraction and the relaxation of the muscle fiber
