displacement reactions
a displacement reaction is when you displace and ore e.g. iron oxide by reacting it with a more reactive metal to displace the ore
magnesium + copper sulphate ---> magnesium sulphate + copper because magnesium is the more reactive metal
-
zinc + magnesium sulphate ---> magnesium sulphate + copper because magnesium is the more reactive metal so no diplacement reaction would take place
alloys
An alloy is a mixture of two or more elements, where at least one element is a metal. Many alloys are mixtures of two or more metals.

metal ores
they get extracted to form a metal oxide, to extaract a metal oxide you react the metal oxide with a more reactive metal
Ore is a deposit in Earth's crust of one or more valuable minerals. The most valuable ore deposits contain metals crucial to industry and trade, like copper, gold, and iron. Copper ore is mined for a variety of industrial uses. Copper, an excellent conductor of electricity, is used as electrical wire.
