Case Studies

Focus may be on one person (n=1) or a group, town, work environment etc
Advantages: deep insight, easy to read and relate to, relevant to practice and real life
Disadvantages: no clear method, transparency issues, ethical issues
Researches Bias
Leading Question Bias: participants inclined to answer in a certain way due to specific wording of question :
Question Order Bias: responses to one question influence the participant's responses to following questions

Interviews
gain an insight into people's thoughts, opinions and feelings from their own point of view
can be structured (questionnaire), semi-structured or unstructed --> the more unstructed, the more in depth

semi-structured: certain questions must be asked but there can be follow-up questions (almost like a checklist)
