After the plot

The Gunpowder Plot

Born in April 1570, York, England

Became known as Guido

Joined the Catholic Spanish army at the age of 21

In childhood he converted from Protestant to Catholic

He and other Catholics didn't really like the King (James I)

The King and Parliament used to beat and torture Catholics

They used to beat and torture the Catholics because of their views and beliefs

He then joined a group of Catholics led by a man called Robert Catesby who wanted to kill the king

It was Guy Fawkes who had the job of setting of the gunpowder underneath the Houses of Parliament

They decided that they were going to blow up the Hoses of Parliament and kill the James I in the process

A man who was working on the plot with them (Francis Tresham) sent warning letter to Lord Montegle who then passed it on to the Kings Guards

The King had guards waiting for something to happen on November 5

They all bought 36 barrels of gunpowder and hid it into the Houses of Parliament and then rented a place nearby

That night they found a man called John Johnson trying to set the barrels alight, but he was caught

He then confessed that he was Guy Fawkes

There was a torture machine that was being made for Guy Fawkes

He was executed and then cut into four pieces

He was put in Prison for a while at first

The others were all traced to Holbeach House which was in the Countryside, most of them were killed

His four pieces were then sent to the four corners of England to make sure nobody ever committed treason again
