how has the earth changed?
Earth has changed over time from plate tectonics, rock cycle, and lastly dating rocks.
my connection is is my favorite football team, the green bay packers.
I chose this as my connection because it has changed over time like the earth.
plate tectonics
my claim is that plate tectonics push against each other and pull apart making the continents move
The continents changed over time. We know this because Alfred Wegener's theory was that South America and Africa lined up, then we thought through even further because he found mountain ranges that lined up on the two different coastlines.Rocks can tell us about the locations past because when pangea was a thing mountain ranges might have formed and split when pangea split causing the same rocks to be in different locations even though they might have formed in the same place.
Connection I can connect with this because my team is always changing. The incredible saga of the Green Bay Packers began in August 1919, when the Indian Packing Company agreed to sponsor a local pro football team under the direction of Earl (Curly) Lambeau. then they went on to become a nfl team and win many super bowls in the time since they started.
rock cycle
claim. my claim is that the earth changes from the rocks by the rocks forming on the earth.
some rocks can form from magma and lava rapidly cooling. Others form from pressure or erosion, they also form in layers. Some rocks change from going underground and being put under extreme heat and pressure, others change from erosion or from sudden events like a tornado that might break it. What happens is they will collide and will cause a earthquake and split at the point of contact releasing pressure.
connection. i can connect because my team is always adding new players to the lineup, and adding new or changing existing drills in practice. they are also changing plays that they do in the games, witch helps beat the other teams because they haven't seen the plays if they are new.
dating rocks
claim. My claim is that we can date rocks to see how earth has changed over time.
We can tell if rocks are younger or older when they form in layers because the oldest ones would have formed on the bottom and the younger ones would have formed on top of them because the older one already was there. We know exactly how old rocks are from using how many half-lifes the rocks have had. Half lifes are the time it takes for uranium atoms to decay to lead. The age of a rock matters because we can date the earth with the oldest rocks on earth.
connection. i can connect from this, because a football team forms in layers. starting with the coaches the oldest layer to it, then the quarterback, next we have the defense, and now the offense.
conclusion.
in conclusion, we have reviewed plate tectonics, the rock cycle, and lastly dating rocks.
