Men, on average, tend to outperform women slightly on certain spatial tasks. Specifically, on the mental rotations task, using 3D objets instead of "D objects, and placing time limits on the task. Men are more accurate in target-directed skills, such as throwing and catching objedts. Men tend also to perform slightly better on tests of matemathical reasoning.
Women, on average, perform better on tests of perceptual speed, verbal fluencey and mathematical calculation, and on precise manual tasks requiring fine motor co-ordination. IN terms of spatial tasks, women are better at remembering the location of objects.
Our beleifs about others´capabilities can affet how we respond to them. Even more important at times are our own self-beliefs, which tell us who we are and what we can and cannot do.
