The Aztecs were a northern Mexican tribe and ruled a huge empire.
The origin of the Aztec people is uncertain, but elements of their own tradition say that they were a tribe of hunters and gatherers on the northern Mexican plateau before their appearance in Mesoamerica in the 12th century CE.
The legendary original people of the Aztec has been migrating from a homeland called Aztlan

Most Aztecs ate twice a day, the first after a few hours of morning work, and the second during the hottest hour of the day, at around 3 o’clock

The Aztecs were really strong in their military power, religion, and tribute system. They developed their own calendar, built large cities, and huge pyramids, and developed a farming system called chinampas, they used the new chinampas system to grow crops on shallow lake beds.
