There is no rigid process for establishing new national parks. Each project has five steps:

Identifying representative natural areas

-Selecting a potential area

Assessing the feasibility of a national park, including consultations

Negotiating agreements

Establishing a national park under the Canada National Parks Act

Boots on the Ground Initiative

The BC Parks Futures Strategy will increase the number of park rangers across the province.

The Australian Government has today announced a record $233 million investment into Parks Australia to deliver infrastructure upgrades across our national parks and at the Australian National Botanic Gardens.

All initiatives are long term strategies to improve the park that require are large amount of funding
