Transfer to hospital if person's condition is unstable. Complications are most likely if the person is older/unwell/frail or the bleeding is severe.

Definition: Bleeding from the nose. Most cases occur from Little's area on the anterior nasal septum. Less commonly it originates from branches of the sphenopalatine artery in the posterior nasal cavity, this usually occurs in older people with bleeding from both nostrils, profuse, and bleeding site cannot be seen on examination.
