Plate Tectonics
Evidence: Plate Tectonics collide releasing pressure and making water currents start to flow and shoot out. (tsunami)
Plate Tectonics split releasing pressure rising magma making volcanoes fill with lava. (volcanos)
Plate Tectonics get stuck at their edges due to friction. When the stress on the edge overcomes the friction an earthquake begins.
Claim: Plate Tectonics move from heat and pressure from earth’s core and the effect from plate tectonics moving is things like volcanos, hot springs, earthquakes, tsunamis to form.
Rock Cycle
Evidence: Tons of heat and pressure makes rocks change their texture, color, and even form into new metamorphic rocks.
Erosion changes rock having small bits of rock broken off overtime and being moved from things like water or wind.
Plants can change rocks growing bigger and breaking rocks or enlarging cracks in the rock.
Claim: Rocks are formed and changed by natural disasters or simple things like melting, eroding, colling, compacting, or deforming.
Dating Rocks
-
Evidence: Rocks usually show changes in every other layer telling us what this layer was like.
Using radiometric dating we can compare the age of the rock to a period of time which can tell us what it was like in that time period.
Claim: Earth’s plate tectonics move overtime changing the image of the world.
Connection: As I get older I get more responsibilities.
