Example- Skull
Movable (sutures)
Are the joints that help in the movement of the body parts
Examples- everything but the skull
Hinge Joint
moves two directions, opens and closes
examples- elbow and knee
Ball and socket joint
Allows essay movement in all directions
Examples- hip and shoulder
Pivot joint
one bone acts like cylinder fits into another
example- neck
Gliding joint
allows bones to glid over each other
examples-ankle and wrist
tendons
connects muscles to bones
ligament
connects bones to bones
