Before The Reign of Terror and Factors that contributed

Before the Reign of terror, people were starving due to expensive food and extremely low wages.

Wealthy people did not pay taxes so the burden was left to the already poor class, The Third Estate. Seeing this, people were angry and decided to take matters into their own hands. This was essentially the humble beginning of the French Revolution. Now you may be wondering, why am I calling a humble revolution? The reason being, when the revolution began, its ideals were to help poor people with education, food, and well being. Over time, these ideals changed due to bad dictators and people began being executed. So essentially, it was humble at the beginning.

Robespierre killed many people within the third estate if they were accused of being against the French Revolution. For being a extermeist and radical, he was eventually killed as well

Around 300,000 people died during the reign of terror and surprisingly, most of them were from the third estate and not rich people. Also, the monarchy they tried so hard to defeat had become into a dictatorship which is ironic.
