in the ending of the book is some irony. the pigs were looking threw the window of napoleons house and they saw the pigs, who just looked humans. they were acting like humans and were as egotisticalas humans.

animal farm itself is a metaphor. for the communism and tolitairism of the Soviet Union. As the pigs represent the leader: Stalin as Napoleon and the old mayor as Lenin

There is an Denotation: Shirk. wich is used as avoiding a certain persons assigned duty. Wich is the same as in the dictionary.
connotation
in the speech of old major. he says comrades alot. old major is reffering to comrades with the meaning that all animals are equal.
satire and sarcasm
“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” In this case, George Orwell uses the phrase “more equal” to show how leaders are twisting words in order to manipulate the population. Animal Farm is a classic satire on the Russian Revolution.
