When he tried to show his rights he got punished by the enslaver
Many times Solomon repeated he is a free person but none listen to him
The more he tried to get normal conditions of life the more the enslaver treated him like an animal
They gave a different name, Platt, for make him understand that he has no more rights
Northup -one of few kidnapped free black people that regained freedom
Northup sued Birch and other kidnappers in Washington
Birch -arrested and tried
Northup could not testify in court, since he was a black person
Without any witnesses who could testify, Birch was found not guilty
