Half pipe process
Created the framework using Adobe Illustrator and laser cutter
Once framework was made, glued the parts together and built the structure with two short logs of wood to make it stand and secure
Making the planks of the ramp, I was given a long piece of thin wood that I could cut into the right size I needed and I cut the wood and glued and clamped the pieces on making the ramp
When everything was dried, I glued everything on the back to make it very secure
I measured the length of my ramp and cut the pieces into long thin strips
I put them into the steam bender to make the strips bendable
When finished steam bending, I put the planks on and clamped them on to hold the shape of the ramp
After shaping the top planks, I screwed down the planks using a screw driver and screws and washers.
I unscrewed the screws and used epoxy glue to glue the top planks down
This is when my ramp fell apart when i was screwing everything back on
My first ramp
I was made my framework and quickly glued everything together
My second ramp
Once framework was made, glued the parts together and built the structure with two short logs of wood to make it stand and secure
Making the planks of the ramp, I was given a long piece of thin wood that I could cut into the right size I needed and I cut the wood and glued and clamped the pieces on making the ramp
I measured the length of my ramp and cut the pieces into long thin strips
This time I was given extra thin strips so it could give me more time to work on my ramp
When finished bending, I put the planks on and clamped them on to hold the shape of the ramp
After shaping the top planks, I screwed down the planks using a screw driver and screws and washers.
I unscrewed the screws and used epoxy glue to glue the top planks down
Then i used a scrap piece of wood to used for the top and back sides of the ramp to cover the insides.
I used the power saw to take off the access wood and epoxy glue to make it tidier
I used filler to fill in the gaps in the ramp and used the sandpaper machine to make everything smoother and look tidier with no bumps or gaps
Finally, I used the spray paint to colour the ramp and make it look better than the wood
I used the bandsaw to cut the wood into a size that was bigger than the sides of my ramp so i could use the power saw to cut off all the access wood sticking out.
