Career in theatre
From 1590 to 1613, Shakespeare lived in London and was a well known actor there. In 1592, his play Henry VI was performed in the Rose theatre. He then went on to write about 40 more plays.
He was also a part owner of a theatre company and part owner of the Globe Theatre. The Globe was one of the first theatres to use special effects such as trapdoors, actors on wires, thunder, lightning, smoke and more.
Later life and death

Towards the end of his life, William lived quietly back in his hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon.

Shakespeare was born in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon on 23rd April however there isn't an official record of his birth.
