The teaching of religion in public schools opens up the opportunities for students to become more aware and accepting of other religions. While keeping in mind that this may also open up a door for bullying, creating a safe environment where students truly feel comfortable and respected enough to enjoy their differences would weigh out the negative.

The teaching of religion in public schools may be able to open up opportunities for students to feel more connected with their community at school. But this does open up the door for many students to feel excluded. There are many options such as a students not being apart of the major religion at the school or not even identifying to any religion. The cons in this case may weigh out the pros.
