healthy vs processed food?
I'm
all for
healthy eating
why? to boost my life expectancy
I've adapted to my new way of life
But at least I'm not all preachy about it
I used to crave for crap
I weened myself off fast food and went
organic / vegan
my body seems grateful for it
an avid animal lover and
wouldn’t touch
any animal product
with a barge pole
cut out
all dairy and meat products
took up a plant-based diet
lentils, whole grain rice, soymilk and dill
not only
am
I benefiting health-wise
but
I feel I am doing my part in preserving
our natural world
veg, fruit, and
meat high in protein
make up the bulk of my meals
I get my five a day
accompanied by
several helpings of protein every day
I can let myself go
by
allowing myself a cheat meal
but
only on special occasions
have eased up on (some food)
milk? lactose intolerant
drastically
cut down on
starchy foods
processed food (fruity yogurts, typical TV dinner, oven-ready / ready-made meals); live off
less expensive
unprocessed food, that of the organic type
far less bland in terms of taste
I'm not daft; I know
low in nutritional quality
leave you satiated
with a full belly
cost-wise = don't leave you out of house and home
X-wise, 'I prefer the type', 'when it comes to'
pay a heavy price if you continue down this path (/ for lacking any self-discipline)
daft = a right numpty
processed ingredients
carcinogenic
can bring on
diabetes and other debilitating illnesses
health issues are reversible
by merely
swapping over
to healthy natural food
Healthy eating
includes
consuming high-quality proteins
carbohydrates
heart-healthy fats
1 more item...
while minimizing processed foods (saturated fats and alcohol)
tastes so damn delicious
especially
a greasy burger with chips dripping in fat
a massive portion of
fish and chips
once a guilty pleasure
can now be enjoyed
whenever
consuming this slop
makes life even
shorter
as a nation
gorge on (eat to excess) fast food
high in saturated fats, e-numbers and preservatives
!
Everything in moderation
I rarely pig out on it
but I do treat myself to a takeaway once a month
would get alarm bells ringing
pumping your body with
refined ingredients
stripped of their original nutrient content
steer well clear of anything which is refined and
high in sugar
are just blissfully unaware of the nutritional
value of what they consume
to their own detriment
ditch fast food
opt for a healthier lifestyle
is not as simple as that
if faced with greater time constraints
turn to convenience foods
being on call 24/7
having to run
around after your kids
spending countless hours commuting
haven’t been awarded with the luxury of time
to slave away in the kitchen
or
throw sth together very quickly
just have a 5-minute window for
lunch
need to grab something pretty quick and scoff it down.
A nutritious, well-balanced diet
along with
physical activity
refraining from smoking
=
the foundation of good health
Eating in this manner
helps you maintain your body’s everyday functions
promotes optimal body weight
can assist in
disease prevention
