14.1 Format of a Scientific talk
An oral presentation needs to be structured and it needs to written and worded differently

14.4 Delivery of a Face-to-face talk
Make sure you are heard
Do not speak too softly, speak loud enough so the audience can hear you
Avoid distraction
Avoid distracting sounds like "hm, uh, ok, so"

Use words and phrase your audience can understand

Looking directly into the audience is one of the most powerful ways to look confidence

Know what programs are available to create slides
. You want to know your program and know how it works. Some examples of this programs are Microsoft Powerpoint, Apple Keynote, Google slide etc

Notes are a great tool to help people present their slides. Its also a great tool to help the person practice their speech
Preparing your talk and visual aids well ahead of time
. You need to be prepared and practice. It is very important to know your audience and know how much knowledge does your audience know

Practicing your slide will help you stay within the time limit, it will also let the flow of your words come out your mouth smoothly
14.3 Designing Effective slides
Pay attention to font
You want to avoid nonstandard fonts, graph and abbreviation
Limit the amount of text
Your slide should contain informative headings that covers all key points
Pay attention to color
Avoid bright color, nonstandard colors and red and green colors
Give figure and table
Figures and tables should have a title
Make slides look attractive
Your slide must be clear, legible and easy to understand
Do not clutter
Think graphically
