Diagnosis depends on evaluating the relationship between:
a) form, content, and severity of symptoms.
b) previous history and personality traits and
c) “stressful” events and situations or life crises.
The existence of the three factors above must be clear and strong evidence that the disorder is not would have happened had it not been. Manifestations of the disorder vary and include depressive, anxiety, mixed anxiety depression, behavioral disorders accompanied by a disability in daily activities. Not none of these symptoms are specific to support the diagnosis. Onset usually occurs within 1 month of the “stressful” event and symptoms are usually does not last more than 6 months, except in the case of prolonged depressive reactions
