Diagnostic
Definition: Diagnostic assessments are pre tests that gauge what the student is proficient or weak in. This will be used to understand how to differentiate their learning effectively.

Summative
Definition: Summative Assesments are usually given at the end of units and review what the students should have learned in that unit.
Projects: Projects when used correctly can accuratley gauge whether a student has learned eerthing they needed to because the project should span multiple topics in the unit
FInal exams are given at the end of the course and is the most imortant summative assessment given every yer, it will gauge what the student has learned throughout the whole year.
Performance
Definition: Preformance assessments are tests that require students to preform a given task chosen from the unit to assess student learning.
Chair testing in band is a clear performance assessment because determining which student will sit in which chair is based purely off of performance.
Real world application involves using knowledge learned in the unit to complete an experiment using real world items.
