Interim/Benchmark
A test that is given at different times during a school year to see where a student is at in their learning based on certain standards.

Texas Early Mathematics Inventory (TEMI) - Used to test students math knowledge given at the beginning of the year middle of the year and end of the year to test students and compare where they stand to grade level.
Diagnostic
Teacher-made surveys: These can be used to asses what students know and what they need more teaching on for certain subjects.
Assessments used to test what students know and to help teachers see where students are in their learning and what teachers need to build on as far as their strengths and needs.
Pre-test: Test given at the beginning of the year or beginning of the unit to see what students already know and pin-point focus areas.
Performance

An assessment in which a student is supposed to perform a task instead of completing a normal test questions.

Summative
Assessment is used to evaluate students' learning at the end of a lesson or unit. These tests grades are important and have a large impact on overall averages.
Final Projects: This can look like posters, building something, creating something etc. used to measure what students have learned.

Formative
