Interim/Benchmark
Definition:Interim/ Benchmark assessments are used to track where students are currently at, and determining what will be able to do in the future.
STARR: Texas standardized test given to students to assess their knowledge and skills based on grade level.

Diagnostic
Definition:Pre-assessment exams administered to determine a student's current strengths and weaknesses to find their misconceptions. The results are helpful in identifying student needs
KWL chart: Students fill out the KWL chart at the beginning of the lesson with what they know and want to know, and at the end of the lesson they will fill out what they learned
Anticipation reaction guide: Students will fill out the chart stating if they agree or disagree with statements about a new topic they have not been taught before, and after the lesson, they will answer the same questions to see what they learned and didn't know before the new topic was introduced.
Formative
Definition : Formative assessments are a way of gathering evidence of student learning to get feed back on how to modify a lesson.

Definition:Summative assessments are used to test a student's understand at the end of a unit. Usually are considered high stakes.
