Interim/Benchmark
Definition: A comparison of how students are doing on set standers that are tested throughout the same school year.
STAAR Tests: Students are required to take a STAAR test at the end of the year to assess their overall content knowledge in their specific grade level

Semester Tests: These tests are given to students at the end of each semester to assess student mastery of the standards taught during that semester
Performance
Definition: An assessment an assessment that lets student show their knowledge in real life situational problems by showing their thought process
Portfolio: Students will create a folder on their chromebooks including visuals/ documents/ pictures of student created work such as, a composite figure made by the student, student created problem over the area of a circle.
Pear-deck: Students will complete a pear-deck which included solving 7th grade math problems involving circles. The pear-deck will be student paced and include questions that ask students questions about thought process when problem solving to check for misconceptions.

Diagnostic
Definition: It is a way for teachers to see what their students can and cant do to help guide their teaching and support student learning
T-Test Pre-Test- This is given to all middle school students to take it at the beginning of the year to give the teacher a guide of where students are and helps the teacher track the progress of the student throughout the year
IXl- is a website that is used in LISD to help build gabs that are found in students learning. All students must complete a diagnosis first to see where the gaps in learning are.
Formative
Definition: small, low stakes assessments on students as way for teacher to see if student understood the lesson for that day and gives teacher feedback on how to change future lesson plans
Exit Tickets: These are given to students typically at the end of class as a way for students to show what they learned during the lesson. These are typically one problem and require 5 minutes or less. How students do on these give feedback to the teacher for future lesson plans.
3-2-1 Summary: These are given to students after a lesson is taught. Students are asked to tell 3 things they learned from the lesson, 2 things they founf interesting about the leson and 1 question or thing they still need to work on .
Summative
Definition: An assessment given to the student after a unit to see if the student understood the unit as a whole.
Content Focus Assessments (CFA): At the end of a topic, students take assessments over standards they have learned within the unit
9 Week District Assessment: This assessment is given to students every 9 weeks to assess mastery on the standards associated with the grade level to assess student mastery of STAAR content.
