EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE: is basically the ability to manage your emotions, understand the emotions of those around you, and express your emotions in a professional/respectful way.

LEGITIMATE POWER: is authority given to a person through an organization (company, government, political, etc). Like getting a promotion and becoming COO.
EXPERT POWER: is power that comes from having a deep knowledge on a subject. You also are able to explain that subject very clearly and easier to others who dont have as much knowledge about it.
COERCIVE POWER: is having the power of forcing people to do things for you by threasting them physically & emotionally. Using force or punishment is also includied.
SIGNS OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE:
1) a strong emotional vocabulary - can accurately identify their emotions
2) a good judge of character
- can easily read other and understand their motivation.
3) difficult to offend
- they are very confident with themselves and open-minded which makes them have such "thick skin".
4 AREAS EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE CAN AFFECT:
Performance at Work: excelling at everything you do, communicate properly with your co-workers, and motivate others.
Physical Health: demonstrating good self control and containing your stress level as well as your anger level. This helps you become a very self controlled person which ultimately helps your physical health.
Mental Health: unable to control your stress levels can severely harm your mental health. Uncontrolled stress is one of the factors of that, if you cannot control your stress it can impact your mental health and damage it so bad in many ways. You are more vulnerable to have more anxiety, depression, as well as mood swings if you do not control your stress.
Relationships: having a better understanding of your emotions it enables you to communicate with others and express your feelings in order for them to understand you.Understanding your emotions is a really important factor as it helps you communicate more effectively in your personal life and at work.
LEADERSHIP THEORIES: is identifying what makes leaders successful and why and how only specific people become leaders. Leadership theories focuses on the behavior and traits that people have/ developed to have which increases their leadership skills.Different Types of Leadership Theories:
- Situational
- Transactional
- Pace Setting
- Emergent
POSITIVE TEAM TERMS:
- Synergy: the power that a group has by working together rather than working alone and achieving more.
- Cohesiveness: when a group motivates/commits to each other to stay as a team.

LEADERSHIP STYLES:
is the characteristic/behavior of a leader's approach when motivating, influencing, directing, and managing different groups of people.Different Types of Leadership Styles;
- Autocratic
- Democratic
- Laissez-faire
- Transformational
- Affiliative
POLITICAL POWER: is the ablitly to influnce/control the thinking and behavour of people and influcence the outcome of different events.
FUNCTIONAL GROUPS: a team that shares similar skills and accomplish mutliple purpose, without a specific time horizon.
EFFECTIVE TEAMS: is a group of people with different types of skills who work together to complete goals and tasks that have been given to them by a person of higher authority in their workplace. In order to become a highly effective team, group members need to be able to motivate each other, collaborate in solving problems, and supporting one another. Being a highly effective team leads to better/greater results.
INFORMAL GROUPS: is created by groups members but is not relevant to organizational goals it is rather based on more of a social contact and their own personal goals.
TASK GROUPS: a group that are brought together to complete/accomplish a specific task or to produce an item/product. This type of group has a specific time horizon.
STAGES OF GROUP&TEAM DEVELOPMENT:
