How is sound made?
When you disturb a medium it makes a noise
e.g. when you hit a drum the medium is being disturbed so it make a noise
Sound needs a medium for its propogation
Sound moves when the particles hit each other and pass on the vibratio

Gases
Sound travels slower through gases
e.g. air
gas particles are further away from each other so the sound travel slower
Liquids
Sound travels second fastest through liquids
e.g. water
Solids
Sound travels fastest through solids
e.g. metal
Sound in space
There is no medium in space so sound can't travel
e.g. if there is an explosion in space you will see the explosion but won't hear anything
The only sound can be made is from space suit
e.g. The oxygen in the spacesuit helps the astronaut tap the helmet to talk to people on Earth.
