this module could be relatable to current workplace and my own kids, hence I opted to learn about this.

common in high sport levels
more common in boys vs girls?
growing bones- muscles, tendons stretches- not working at ideal length- more injury prone
reduction in coordination of task after growth spurt and core stability leading to increased demand placed on extremities
reduced body awereness after growth spurt
FACTS
injuries to growth plates- stress fractures
injury to muscle-tendons through inflammation, small tears
relating to incorrect loading, incorrect task executing, force generation too great or too many reps.

BENEFITS
more knowledgable physiotherapist
broader range of knowledge
recognising symptoms in my own kids
recognising symptoms in young clients and being able to refer onto a more specialised physio in this area
DIFFICULTIES
not relatable to geriatric population
limited opportunities to work with this population
retention of information might be an issue
OPPORTUNITIES
Is this relatable to horse riding?
Is there a cross over into paediatric disability sector?
