TV shows
talent shows: audition for the televised contest, proceed to the final, the audience votes for the winner, land themselves a massive cash prize
documentaries: sole aim is to document reality, maintain historical record, create observation docuseries, don’t misrepresent the truth, be engrossing, be a rich source of knowledge
soap operas: when it comes to drama the list is endless, be a sucker for melodramas, appeal to the hightened emotions, plots deal with crises of human emotion, every episode ends on a cliffhanger, twists and turns every 5 minutes
cooking show: designed to motivate audiences to gain mastery of cooking a specific dish, demonstrate the process in detail on camera
current affairs TV shows: centres around investigative journalism, report according to their own ideological narrative, journalists go undercover, expose governmental corruption/human rights abuse,
silence the show by forcing it off-air, political agends is patently obvious
comedy: there’s a varied choice, cheer oneself after a crappy day at work, watch standups or comedy panel shows, create hilarious one-liners, see life from a totally different angle
TV news: keep abreast of events happening around us, broadcast sports coverage/weather forecasts/traffic reports/political commentary/expert opinions/editorial content, politicians expose their incompetence and hypocrisy, interrupt a programme for an important newsflash

Opinions about the press
newspapers print all sorts of allegations, many of them untrue
mud sticks, and the unfortunate victims bear the brunt of it
-
-
If it weren’t for the press, a lot of things would be swept under the carpet.
