Local Government
Cons: There will be less energy when conditions are poor.
Changes: Purchase more renewable energy.
Pros: Cheaper for citizens.
Federal Government
Changes: Building more windmills and dams
Pros: Using less fossil fuels.
Cons: More expensive.
Manufacturers
Retailers
Contractors
Set up solar panels and make sure they efficiently produce electricity.
They make sure that energy efficient products are being made as well as helping improve the state of energy in the market.
They sell energy efficient products that can help the environment and society as a whole. They also make and influence changes in the state of energy in most products.
Commercial
Transportation
Cars/Vehicles
Most Cars burn fossil fuels, including gasoline and diesel
More electric cars are becoming increasingly used over cars that rely on fossil fuels for fuel
Buses/Subways/Trolly System
Both electric cars and some modes of transportation are beginning to use more electricity
As a positive, modes of transportation that use electricity can even contribute power back to the grid when other regions are suffering
Industrial
Most businesses rely on electricity because of the various tools and machines used to power the opertation as a whole
These include lighting, computers, cooling/heating systems, security cameras, etc.
While some industrial companies use electricity as energy, most factories and mills continue to rely on fossil fuels, petroleum, and other chemicals that prove more harmful.
Unfortunately, it doesn't come easy to transition to electricity as a substitute for fossil fuels, mining, and natural gases. Electricity only contributes almost as much as it does for commercial businesses.
Energy Communities
Pros: Produces and shares renewable energy. It generates and manages cost-effective green energy.
Cons: Must be nonprofit. The electricity that is being produced must be shared throughout other communities.
Change: Reduces CO2 emissions and energy waste.
