Inquiry based approach
Inquiry-based learning is a student-centred approach based on students' questions and natural curiosity to direct their learning. Students are encouraged to work collaboratively to identify and solve a problem. This allows students to engage in the learning process, which will maximise their learning. Students want to gain knowledge by doing. chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/EJ1241559.pdf
Taking ownership of their learning will result in the development of problem-solving, analysis and critical-thinking skills. file:///C:/Users/user/Downloads/459-Article%20Text-569-1-10-20180626%20(1).pdf
Inquiry-based learning is an excellent approach towards teaching Science as scientific experiments are, in essence, inquiry-based activities. Knowledge is enhanced when students are actively engaged in the learning process and, combined with guidance from the teacher, the students will be able to gain a deeper understanding of scientific concepts. The Inquiry process includes students describing objects and events, asking questions, constructing explanations, testing the explanations against current scientific knowledge and communicating their findings with others. All of these activities use critical and logical thinking, as well as considering alternative explanations. Therefore, students will actively develop their understanding of science as they are combining their reasoning and thinking skills with scientific knowledge. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1877042810002107
