User Experience
Making an Order
To place an order the user must go through a simple series of steps that is made clear through the use of usability and visual communications principles, as well as help buttons placed throughout the site
Once the user has added items to their cart through either the menu or their favourites/previous orders, they will confirm their order and collection date
User Accounts
Details for user accounts will be imported from TASS, this would include first and last names, school email, grade and house. Thus, there will be no need for users to register for an account as their information is already in the system.
Users must be logged into their account to be able to place an order, so that it is clear who placed each order so that it can be recorded if they do not collect
All past purchases will be saved and visible to the user, where they can also reorder past orders
Users will be given the ability to save an order to their 'Favourites', to be reordered quickly at a later date
Levels of User
Student will be the most common level of user, their information will be imported in from TASS and they will be able to order food items from the current menu
Convener is the second level of user, their accounts will be created by an admin, and they will have the ability to view all past student orders and purchases, as well as being able to alter the menu items and prices
Admin is the highest level of user, they have all the permissions of conveners, except they also have the ability to add or remove conveners and alter aspects of the site
Navigation
All buttons throughout the site will be large with a contrasting colour scheme to make them easily visible and accessible to the user
The site should be as accessible as possible for people with visual impairments, thus the site's colour scheme and layout shall be large and with high contrast of colours for text and buttons
Devices
-
PC, Phone, Tablet
The website's base design will be tailored for a computer screen, where it will have a more spread-out layout than the design on the smaller devices
On a tablet/iPad, the design will be quite similar to the layout of the site on a computer, however some features shall differ, such as the size of various buttons due to the touch-screen interface
The site's interface will be fully functional on a mobile phone, the design will differ significantly to the computer/tablet design, and will feature comparatively larger buttons and a more compact layout to counteract the limited screen size

Re-ordering
Student's will be able to favourite an order of one or more items which will be very accessible and allow for fast re-ordering, the ability to edit the favourite or edit the order for a singular circumstance will also be available
Each order the student makes will be saved and can be viewed by the student in an 'order history' section, from which orders can be repeated for the current time
Ordering Process
Students will be able to view and order from a full menu of available items, which will include accurate visual depictions of the products along with the prices
Once a student has added each of their desired items to their cart, they can select a date for the order to be collected on, of which there is a limit on how far in the future this can happen
Once adding each of their desired items to their cart and selecting a date for collection, students can officially complete their order and will be presented a receipt which includes each item, total price, date of order and date of collection
