Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1998
The CDPA was an act of parliament that gives the creators of literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works the right to control the ways in which their material may be used.
The punishment for breaking this Act could be a £500 fine and/or imprisonment for up to 6 months. However, some offences may result in being imprisoned for up to 10 years and an unlimited fine.
