Summative: An assessment of learning that assess the effectiveness of the teacher and the students. It is usually given an the end of an instructional period, like the end of the unit.

Final project: An interactive assignment that can be done along or in groups that allow students to show their mastery of skills.
Interim/Benchmark: The purpose of a benchmark or interim exam is to see if students have mastered certain skills and are ready to move on. It can also show teachers what needs to be researched. These are used to prepare students for state testing, like the STAAR.
Unit/Chapter test: An unit or end of chapter test shows what students learned at the end of the unit and what they have mastered. This still provides the opportunity for reteach.
CFA: This stands for Common Fomative Assessment and is given every 3 weeks to see how students are grasping materials and new ideas.
Performance: These type of assessments require the students to produce something. The product of the students are put up against a rubric and then are graded. They use these to see how students use their skills to solve or create problems.
Lab report: Students are assessed on their performance throughout the experiment while they determine if 5 buckets of materials are a mixture or a solution.
Contructed Response Exit-ticket: Students will write 2-3 sentences answering the question “How do you determine if something is a mixture or solution?”
Diagnostic: Diagnostic assessments are mainly for teachers to know their students and their needs. It can tell them what their students are, and are not understanding and how to help edify both their strengths and weaknesses.
Survey: teachers can survey students on material that they were presented. The teacher can get an idea of what was understood.
Pick a Stick: While the teacher is instructing the students, sticks with the students names or numbers will be pulled for active participation. This is awesome for table group time!
Formative : The purpose of a formative assessment is to continue to improve instruction and learning while you teach. Formative assessments can help the teachers improve their instructions/delivery of instruction, and for students comprehension.
Concept Map: Students will draw a concept map over the lesson they participated in that day. This shows how well students grasped the material and may alter the rest of the units instruction.
Four Corners: Four corners can be used to assess on any subject or material. The sttudents will be asked a question and then choose a corner with the correct answer.
