Generalizations
Overall i find Sex and the idea of it to be harmful and not as constructive as Gender. Gender i feel has more flexibility in how we can bend norms and discuss what we find to be the meaning. Sex is more rigid and defining, not allowing us to step outside of our biological constructs.
History shows that sex was used as a way of dehumanizing women
Sex is a way to oppress women and especially minority women from being valued for more than just their biological makeup
The idea of gender now allows us to be more forward thinking and to deconstruct societies idea of gender norms and roles. It is something we can take for ourselves now and say this is who I am and how I want you to identify me.
The struggles of those who wish to be identified differently from their sex can be seen throughout history. Denying them their gender and only allowing them their biological sex.
