- - - - Cultural differences can cause a loss of sales, loss of employees, and low productivity when doing international business (Geringer et al., 2023). This is because culture is a social norm for a specific group of people and when those norms are broken, it can be upsetting for that individual. This being said, the USA needs to show respect and emotional intelligence towards the cultures that they are doing business with in order for it to be successful (Cote, 2020). This can also be shown in the form of working hours across the globe for when the teams are able to communicate.
    - - Global teams are created by a diverse group of people from different geographic locations (Geringer et al., 2023). When operating with global teams, the US can run into issues like the language barriers and cultural differences that were mentioned earlier as well as time zones and technology resilience. The culture issue can be caused by a lack of a relationship with your team (Cote, 2020). This can be prevented by video conferencing and regular check ins to get to know everyone.
    - - Although one of the official languages in Ireland is English, many people within the country also speaks Irish which can get in the way of doing business with the USA. When doing business between two countries, it import to understand that what you are trying to communicate is not getting “lost in translation” (Cote, 2020). Further more, without understanding a language when doing international business, people are more likely to feel unincluded (Geringer et al., 2023). Overall, language is the number one issue in doing business between the USA.
