Use your context clues of the title, the cover, and the short summary on the back of the book to predict what will happen in this book.
Formative
Definition: Formative Assessments are a way to gather evidence of student learning in order to provide feedback. They are also a way to use the evidence gathered to adjust instruction to better suit student development.
Google Form: Students will fill out a google form listing three things they learned, two things they are confused about, and one question they have.
Exit Ticket Quiz: Students will complete a short 5 question quiz after the lesson to show their knowledge from class.
Summative
Definition: Summative Assessments are a way to show mastery of content. Occurs at the end of a unit, mid-term, semester, or at the end of the year.
End of Unit Test: Students will be tested on all of the previous things they have learned in the unit.
End of Semester Project: Students will have to use the knowledge they gathered during the semester in order to complete the project. They are graded based on ability to put the things they learned into action on the project.
Interim/Benchmark
Definition: Interim or Benchmark Assessments are used to see if students are on track to knowing everything they need to know for the future Summative Assessments.

ISIP Test: ISIP test are taken on IStation (Lubbock ISD). They are taken each month in RLA to show growth and student readiness.
Diagnostic
Definition: Diagnostic Assessments are used to show teachers what student know and what they do not know.
Pre-Test: A pre-test shows what students know and what they do not know. It also helps a teacher form their lessons around what students know and what they do not know.
KWL Chart: A KWL chart students complete the first and second columns before they learn a new topic. The first column is what the students know and the second column is what they want to know. Students complete the last column after they finish learning the knew topic. The last column is what the student learned.
Performance
Definition: Performance Assessments require students to complete a task/performance rather than answer typical multiple choice questions.

Google Slides: Students will have to create a google slideshow based off of the book they are reading.
