Since the ancient period, there has been a significant change in the role of a woman in the layers of society. However, this is not TRUE in every social strata. if that was so, we wouldn't be having women's protests and movements.
On one hand, the lingering problem of how woman are viewed are still yet to be eradicated in minds of some cycles of communities. For example, in countries like Afghanistan, girls are oppressed by not being allowed to attend school which limit their education and in turn, restrict their access to opportunities in life. In addition, we see in sports such as boxing and F1 where women are used to promote events in objectified way.
On another hand, the way women have been perceived has highly improved since the ancient times. Women are now able to take higher positions in society including the government, for example our current prime minister is a woman, and our previous monarchy was a woman to. This shows how far the the perception of a woman has changed.
In conclusion, I believe ,despite the improvement, there is so much more that we could do to make things better, such as equal pay in work places , equal education, more investment in sports as demonstrated recently by women winning the Europe competition. The portrayal that men are superior to women is FALSE. This was wrong not only in ancient period but also in our current time.
