Why is it so hot in Fresno?
A reason to why Fresno is so hot in the summer is because of the hemisphere. In the summer the northern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun making the valley get more solar radiation. This causes bubbles of dry dense air which is known as an are of high pressure. High pressure makes it hard for cooling systems to get to the valley and when it does reach the valley it is weak.
