- - - - a quadrat is uses by cutting the field or area the quadrat is being used at into a grid and then generated random coordinates and placing the quadrat at those coordinates and counting the number of the organism you are measuring e.g use 10 different quadrats and then you will have 10 results. then find the mean of these results and times it by the total area of the field
