I feel as if this should be illegal for people under the age of 18 and over-all. However, If this is a strong part of culture and the person who is supposedly being ‘forced’ agrees, then this should be allowed (only if they are 18+). Making this more of a voluntary experience and letting the young person get a choice of where their life is going to end up. I feel as if this change will make it a more peaceful environment and culture.
Anyone threatened with forced marriage or forced to marry against their will can apply for the Forced Marriage Protection Order. Third parties, such as relatives, friends, voluntary workers and police officers, can also apply for a protection order with the leave of the court.
