System of beliefs
-
Belief systems rely heavily on evaluative and affective components. It has a motivational and cognitive aspect. It helps communities and people distinguish between what is good and bad.
It's important that each and every community has a system of belief because it's what makes them unique and makes them stand out from the rest. It serves as a blueprint for who they are and how they interact with the world.
Subcultures
The way of life, customs, and ideas of a particular group of people within a society that are different from the rest of that society.
Ethnic subcultures (indigenous minorities), religious subcultures (christian, protestants), and regional subcultures (urban and rural).
Even though we live and coexist together in the same society, each of these subcultures have their own specific and unique sets of beliefs, traditions, and values.
Each of these subcultures evolve and change, and they risk being forgotten or not recognized.
Cultural knowledge
Beliefs, values, attitudes and other components of culture that are learned by people.
Cultural identity
Traditions, customs, and beliefs that a group recognizes as being unique and different from others.
Cultural patterns
The conduct that most people perform when they are in determined circumstances that are defined by a cultural environment.
How people interact with one another, plan their lives, and interpret their surroundings.
A culture can adapt and change through time and as people leave their communities to live elsewhere. It starts evolving and mixing new elements of the modern world as well as elements of other cultures that have exchanged knowledge and traditions.
Whenever their particular sets of beliefs are communicated to other people and they start implementing them in their everyday life, thus opening up the possibility to a new "branch" of the same culture in a different environment.
Through time, their customs, traditions, and beliefs need to be constantly updated as we live in an ever-changing and everevolving society.
