Voltage is the difference in electrical potential (the work needed to move a charge by a specific amount between two points within a circuit.

If a component displays a constant gradient (given that temperature and such remains constant), it is said to be an Ohmic conductor.
R = V/I is always obeyed but such a component will only be Ohmic if the voltage applied to it is directly proportional to the current flow.

Internal resistance is the resistance created due to the collision of charges and metal ions within the power source. It is the resistance that reduces the average energy of charges leaving the power supply.
The electromotive force is the total energy per unit charge provided by a power source. The energy wasted per Coulomb overcoming the internal resistance is known as the lost volts (EMF - Terminal PD).
