Muscles and associated structures
Basic Muscle stuff
Muscles are specialized for contraction, organized movemt
Myology= study of muscles
Nerve stimulation for activation
Pumping of blood
Shivering for heat production
Locomotion
Becomes shorter in length when stimulated
Order of muscle
A lot of fasciles come together and form muscle and covered by epimysium
Deep fascia is around it all
Many fibers come together to create the fasicle. Fasicle is surrounded my perimysium
Covered by a thin layer of connectivetissue called endomysium
Each muscle has muscle fibers (inside each muscle fiber are myofibrils and satellite cells
Smooth muscle
Unstriated involuntary, and visceral
Involuntary control
Walls of BV, GI, Bladder, uterus, respiratory
ANS
Cardiac muscle
Important for rhythmic and automatic (involuntary) contraction
Involuntary (ANS)
Found only in heart, forms myocardium
Stimulate= contract, no stimulate= relax
