- - - - The seven kingdoms in all: Elydan, Ciris, Ruzzo, Taina, Derdam, Gobinan, and Helnor. The kingdoms are separated by land and water and do not often war with each other.
        
        Lum has three separate continents which house the seven kingdoms and very large seas which experience a great deal of pirate business. Elydan is the wealthiest kingdom after defeating Ciris and taking her ports, now monopolizing the trade with the other kingdoms as her rival had hoped to do.
        
        Elydan: Western Kingdom
        Elydan, the primary kingdom which had only one rival in wealth (Ciris), operates much like that of the regency era with titles and social intrigue. Solis is the surname of the long-ruling royal family, which has borne three princes in the time of the latest king: Leon, Erik, and Varian.
        
        Ciris: Oceanic Kingdom
        Ciris, the secondary kingdom of Lum in terms of wealth and power, has recently lost a territorial war to Elydan. Ranta is the surname of the royal family, which has borne a daughter and young son, Cordell and Adrian.
        
        Ruzzo: Northern Mountain Kingdom
        A formidable northern kingdom which overshadows both Ciris and Elydan. With the royal surname Vilulf, there is en elder son and young daughter, to match Ciris. They are known as Leif and Tove.
        
        Taina: Tropical Forest Kingdom
        Temperate, rainy climate with a long wet season. The cities are built into hills; main exportation is lumber. Coexists peacefully with Derdam as literal brother country, and has a large demand for jewels and metals from Ruzzo and now exported by Elydan.

        The region is mountainous and incredibly cold, within an endless winter that has only a short season of autumnal warmth. Essentially a sleeping giant covered in snow.

        A strong maritime kingdom which lost its primary ports to Elydan through war. Contains a small amount of divine magic due to the closeness of Elydan's furtive worship, but many citizens take more to worshipping the sea which has its own spirits of small power.
        
        Shares Elydan's temperate climate to her north, but becomes warmer, more humid, and more tropical toward the south. Maintains a weakened state in overseas trade despite having almost cornered the market. Has named the princess as heir, who plans to enact revenge on Elydan and to take back her kingdom's land (freeing the former citizens).

        A place of divine magic and devoted religion, all in worship of Ixis as "one and true." Elydan has a temperate climate which grows more warm and dry toward the west, where lie the Withered Flats, a desert wasteland home to exiled criminals, nomads, and rogues.
        
        The Withered Flats are caused by Ixis' power in setting back time over and over again, after which the desert becomes bigger. As the kingdom has no recollection of its origin, everyone simply accepts its existence as if it always has been, citing it as merely an indication of the great warmth of the love of their goddess.
        
        The kingdom shared a large portion of the continent's coastline with Ciris before completely taking over the largest ports of the oceanic territory through war, thus increasing the southern border.
        
        Has a strong land military led by second Prince Erik.

      - The Oceanic War
        
        The war with Ciris was fought in order to gain critical ports at sea, which were allowing the rival and neighbor country to amass great powers of export and create close relations with the other kingdoms of Lum. King Aldrich Solis immediately saw this as a threat and sought to put Ciris down. His second son, Prince Erik, led the battle as General and returned victorious - and now seeks the crown due to his patriotic status as a great warrior and the support of those related to the military.
        
        Ciris has since lost a great deal of territory and wealth, though the royal family remains... and likely seeks retribution. Its lost coastal villages have since been integrated fully into Elydan through coercion and/or force.
        
        Erik and Leon's battle for the throne has brought upon their need for a wife and princess, which would strengthen their support within the kingdom, among the nobles, and with their father.
        
        The beginning of their search is the crucial date the goddess has chosen for her "Great Reset," in which she has restarted the story across Lum nine separate times. None of the human inhabitants are even remotely aware of these occurrences, nor of their past lives and decisions. During the ninth "Great Reset," Ixis inserts five new characters - a mercenary party - into her world. The goddess expects the new characters to change the story for good this final time, as she will simply sweep Lum with fire and create a new world rather than restart once again.
        
        Leon meets a noblewoman and marries her. Erik seduces her after the coronation and together they perform a coup. The second prince seizes the throne, starts a war with his nearest foes, and sentences the kingdom to death.
        Erik marries Kyra. They are a perfect tyrant pair and declare war within months of taking the throne. Elydan crumbles from the North and South.
        Neither of the princes marry. A civil war breaks out, fueled by their supporters. Their enemies take notice, ready their own men, and Elydan is snuffed from the inside out.
        This is the way it always ends: war, death, the end of Elydan. You are the one who will change the story. Go forth, miserable one, and save this world. Your failure would spell Lum's eternal end... so don't.
- - - - Poisons and Antidotes
  - - - People are not born with their gifts, and those given them are called mediums, as they simply channel the spirits' powers and must first make a contract with them.
        
        The royal family of Ciris has close relations to the spirits of their surrounding sea, Amment.
- - - - The Rikian Ports, named after Prince Erik for his victory against Ciris and the winning of its Port at Amment, now renamed Port Snare
- - - - Crown Prince Leon and Prince Erik are both wooed by Princess Kari of Helnor, though she finds Erik is an easier target.
        
        Prince Erik meets Kari under the cover of night, where he spills his plans to take the throne. When she agrees to assist him with this cause, Erik proposes to her on the spot.
        
        Being the first to give Elydan a princess and an assurance of the continuation of the Solis line, Erik rises up with the support of the nobles and military and takes Leon's crown. When he ascends the throne, his lust for the glory of war leads him to engage in conflict with the kingdom of Ruzzo, which lies to Elydan's immediate north.
        
        Erik makes the mistake of invading Ruzzo in early winter, wrongly believing the snowfall would be mild at the beginning of the season. As a formidable opponent used to the cold, the army of Ruzzo quickly overtakes Erik's troops, pushes them out of the territory, and breaches the northern border.
        
        The kingdom of Elydan is overrun by the Ruzzian army, which cuts a swath through the nation, killing all in its path. Ciris quickly allies with Ruzzo and attacks Elydan from the south, creating a two-front war. The Solis family is decimated to its root, and both enemy countries split the territory and expand their own empires across the rest of the continent.
        
        The kingdom of Elydan is no more.
