The story that I want to share is about who I once was, and who I’ve become.
~Instead of reflecting on how my past experiences may have shaped me in a positive light, I rejected them, and tried to conform. I joined a sorority, got good grades, and became entrenched in being something different than what I was.
~When the foundation is made with the expectations of others, it’s bound to crumble. Leaving it gave me the ability to start to come back to myself, and find the things that made me happy that didn’t have to do with what I thought should be good for me.

~the psychology side of how we create expectations for ourselves that we may not even want to live up to, and how knowledge and awareness of the self is crucial when we’re trying to find our way back home
We’ve all felt like we had to do something just because others were doing it, or we felt like we’d be a better this or a better that if we could change just one thing. Is that change motivated by the internal voice or external pressure though?

I’d also like to look at the impact that our closest relationships have on us
setting boundaries for yourself, and how boundary setting isn’t something against people, it’s an act of love for yourself.
we create our experiences and choose how we want to show up in this world, who we want to be. It’s okay to not know everything
how can expectations not serve us
the only constant is change. allow yourself the compassion and opportunities to do so
