Nervous system
Parts
CELL BODY: Controls the metabolism of the nerve cell
AXON: A long fibre which carries information away from the cell body
DENDRITES: Collect information from other cells
FATTY SHEATH(MADE OF MYELIN): Gives electrical insulation between neighbouring cells and makes impulses travel faster
END PLATE: Synapses with another nerve cell, muscle or gland
Different types of nervous system
Central Nervous System
Peripheral Nervous System
Uses the brain and spinal cord
Processing centre
All the nerves that branch off from the brain and spinal cord
Voluntary
Involuntary
Reflex actions: Rapid automatic responses to a stimulus which many times pose danger to our body
Neurons
Relay neuron
Sensory neuron
Motor neuron
In charge of an action according to the stimulus
Senses the stimulus
Makes the response quicker by not taking the information to the brain
Brief explanation
Controls the ability to move, breathe, see, think and more
Sensation, integration and response
Helps all the parts of the body to communicate with each other
The dendrites collect the informations from other cells and the end plate synapses with another nerve cell. This process repeats and repeats making the whole nervous system work. They work according to the human body's need, such as preventing a human of getting hurt.
